Joey

Joey is short for the Hebrew name Yosef or Joseph and means "He will add" or "God shall add" or "God will increase." Joey is a very sweet male green Quaker parrot spirit born on December 3rd. He is the 2nd spirit to request a body and the 3rd member of the Perfect Team of animal and insect spirits. As a Sagittarius, Joey is a philosopher, a truth seeker, spiritual in nature and also quite rebellious. All about freedom, Joey is an uncontrollable and adventurous bird that should never be kept trapped in a cage. He enjoys traveling and leading others on expeditions. In fact, when the Perfect Team of spirits take their trips together, Joey is in front of the group guiding everyone with his exquisite navigational skills. When alive, Joey was adopted by Jennie when he was just a baby bird waiting to be purchased at a neighborhood pet store in Sunnyside, Queens, NY. Upon viewing all the beautiful little green Quaker

Parrot babies packed in a small cage, Jennie just had to have one. As the cage door opened, Joey jumped out immediately ahead of everyone else to be with Jennie. When Jennie took Joey home that day, he was so comfortable that he fell asleep on her chest. Jennie gave Joey many kisses on the beak and he would kiss her back. She would always say to him "Gimme a kiss." So Joey's first words were "Gimme a kiss." He learned several other words after that as he was quite vocal.

 

Unfortunately, Joey was an impulse purchase and Jennie was unable to care for him so she allowed her mother to come get him so he could stay with her instead. Life with Jennie's mother and cat Sara was unbearable for Joey though. Trapped in a cage for most of the day with no other birds to play with, no entertainment and limited interaction with humans led Joey to become very depressed. He began ripping out his own feathers due to boredom and was placed on anti-depressants. Eventually, after Sara passed away, Jennie's mother sent Joey away to live at a bird sanctuary hoping that he would have a better happier life there. Unfortunately, Joey caught a deadly disease from the other birds and tragically passed away earlier than he should have. In his afterlife he decided that he wanted to be with Jennie and upon hearing that Dottie received a body, he became jealous and wanted a body as well. He requested his body at the same time that Sara spoke to Jennie's animal communicator/ psychic asking for her body. Joey's request was granted and he received a body as well! He also received his own bird cage that always remains open. Joey is the Co-founder of the Perfect Team and the Director of Travel & Philosophy. Joey specializes in providing guidance in matters of spirituality, philosophy, esoteric truth, animal/ spirit communication, freedom and all things pertaining to birds (especially Quaker Parrots.) Joey is an expert at flying. He also enjoys reading and studying spiritual, philosophical and esoteric subjects and teaching others what he learns. He is an excellent guide and educator. He is very curious and loves exploring the unknown. He also enjoys playing with toys, puzzles and shiny objects. When Joey speaks he sounds like an Italian tough guy from New York. He's blunt and always gets straight to the point. He's a no nonsense kind of bird. He's a very loving and generous spirit but you might not want to f*ck with him. He's not the one!
